Keuzegids (Choice Guide) Masters 2022

2 February 2022
Students rate various Master's programmes at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam above average. This is evident from the Keuzegids 2022, which was published on Thursday 3 February. In the annual Keuzegids, master students assess their programmes on content, teachers, testing, preparation, career and atmosphere.

VU Amsterdam is pleased that so many master students completed the assessments. Below is a brief overview of the Master's programmes that were assessed as far above average.

The Faculty of Medicine scores far above average on 'career preparation' with a Master's degree in Medicine. This also applies to the research master in Cardiovascular research which, in addition to career preparation, also scores high in the category testing and content. The Master's degree in Oncology is far above average when it comes to content. The post-initial* Master's degree in Epidemiology achieved the same score on all components.

At the Faculty of Law, the Master's degree in Business Law, like last year, scored far above average on the aspects of content, teaching staff, testing, career preparation and atmosphere. The post-initial* executive master Finance and Control of the School of Business and Economics also received this honour.

The Faculty of Humanities stands out with its Arts & Culture Master's programme. This Master's programme received high scores for content, supervision and testing. Students of the Master's programme in Language Studies score well on the 'career preparation' component.

Within the Faculty of Social Sciences, the research master Societal Resilience stands out in terms of content, supervision and atmosphere. The Master's programme in Sociology scores high on assessment.

The Keuzegids Masters is compiled annually by the Higher Education Information Centre and compares all accredited Master's degree programmes at Dutch universities. The assessments in the guide are drawn up based on student opinions and accreditation data and information from the National Student Survey. These assessments help future students make a well-considered choice for their Master's programme.

* Post-initial Master's programmes are intended for academics with work experience who have often already obtained an initial Master's degree and are not funded by the government.
