How bad is it if you get tempted to participate in talking about colleagues behind their backs? And what can you do when you think people gossip about you? In an interview with de Volkskrant, Prof. Dr. Bianca Beersma and Terence Dores Cruz discuss their research on gossip in everyday life and gossip when working from home.
Prof. Dr. Bianca Beersma, principal investigator of the Force of Gossip, and Terence Dores Cruz, PhD candidate in the Force of Gossip, provided insights on participating in and dealing with workplace gossip based on their research. Prof. Bianca Beersma discussed work in collaboration with Dr. Elena Martinescu, post-doctoral researcher in the Force of Gossip, on online gossip when working from home. Terence Dores Cruz discussed his research on how gossip and reputation in everyday life can promote cooperation as well as his research on why people.
