In this year's list of broad classical universities in the Netherlands, VU Amsterdam ranks fourth. VU Amsterdam receives the same score as last year with good ratings for earth and environment. The Bachelor's programmes in Earth Sciences and Biology, for example, have again been voted 'Top programmes'. "I am immensely proud of this result. As a university, we work hard at our education and research to create a better world and train our students to build a sustainable future. It is great to see that we are again well rated this year by students of programmes in the field of sustainability. A wonderful crown on the hard work of involved teachers and support staff," says rector magnificus Jeroen Geurts.
The Bachelor’s programmes Greek and Latin Language and Culture, Medicine and Joint degree Liberal Arts & Sciences also prolong their title as 'Top Programme'. The Bachelor of Sociology is the newcomer on the list and receives the 'Top Programme' quality mark this year for the first time since the Keuzegids was redesigned.
Since 2021, there has been a new survey design and the assessment themes are different from previous years, making the new rankings of the best-scoring universities not comparable with the results of the 2021 Keuzegids.
Keuzegids
The Keuzegids Bachelors is compiled annually by the Centre for Higher Education Information and compares all accredited Bachelor's programmes at Dutch universities. The assessments in the guide are compiled in part from student opinions and accreditation data using information from the National Student Survey. These assessments help prospective students make an informed choice of their Bachelor's programme.
