Vaccination coverage among VU students appears high

27 October 2021
Over ninety percent of students at VU Amsterdam who completed a questionnaire on COVID-19 vaccination preparedness, indicated that they are fully vaccinated. This is the result of a survey that was conducted among students at VU Amsterdam that was commissioned by the Executive Board at the end of September.

A total of 5947 students completed the questionnaire on vaccination and test readiness. Slightly less than four percent indicated that they do not want to be vaccinated and two percent are still undecided on getting a COVID-19 vaccine. Recently, several universities conducted a survey among students on COVID-19 vaccination coverage. The results show a similar percentage. The Executive Board is positive about the outcome. "At a time when we are seeing COVID-19 infections grow, these are important insights. We know that vaccination is an important protective factor. This high vaccination rate gives us comfort," said President of the Executive Board Mirjam van Praag.

Participation in the survey on vaccination and test readiness among VU students was voluntary. Additional analysis of the survey will follow later.
