More working from home, less gossip

1 December 2021
Because of the Coronavirus we work at home more and that means less gossip at the coffee machine. Is that something good? Not necessarily. Gossip has important social functions. In an interview with Nemo Kennislink (in Dutch), Prof. Dr. Bianca Beersma discusses the social functions of gossip generally and during the pandemic specifically.

Prof. Dr. Bianca Beersma, principal investigator of the Force of Gossip, discussed her research in collaboration with Terence Dores Cruz, PhD candidate in the force gossip, on gossip in everyday life and gossip about the coronavirus. Prof. Bianca Beersma also discussed her research in collaboration with Dr. Elena Martinescu , post-doctoral researcher in the Force of Gossip, about gossip while working from home. The interview was conducted by Mariska van Sprundel for NEMO Kennislink. Read the interview (in Dutch) here
