Research Seminar with Catherine Dauvergne and Audrey Macklin

Share
20 January 2020
Last september, the ACMRL section organized a seminar entitled "Gender, Sexuality and the Refugee Definition."

The seminar was inspired by the PhD Thesis Defense of Younous Arbaoui,. In the seminar, issues and dilemma's regarding refugee claims based on gender and sexuality were discussed on the basis of presentations from Thomas Spijkerboer (Professor of migration law at VU University), and Andrea Grønningsæter, PhD Candidate and the University of Bergen (Norway).

We thank Professor Catherine Dauvergne (University of British Colombia) and Professor Audrey Macklin (University of Toronto) for their insightful comments on the presentations and we thank all IMRL students for attending and participating in the event.
