The section officially said farewell to Pieter Boeles, who has been a visiting professor emeritus at the VU since 2013 and Hemme Battjes, who will become the dean of the law faculty of the VU.
Pieter has been of great value to our section, for instance with his contributions to the Migration Law Clinic and Verblijfblog. With his vast knowledge of migration law in general and his warm personality, Pieter's presence helped many of us with his feedback on our academic work and with his insight and apt advises on our education programmes. We will miss you Pieter!
Luckily, Hemme emphasized it was not a complete farewell, as he will continue to work for the section one day a week.
