Annually, the NVER (Nederlandse Vereniging voor Europees Recht) awards a prize for the best master thesis in the field of European Union Law. This year, Ralph Groeneveld, a student of our International Migration and Refugee Law master specialization at the VU, has won the award for his master thesis titled 'The meaning of 'protection in accordance with the Geneva Convention' under Article 38(1)(e) EU Procedures Directive in the light of the safe country concept'. In its report the Jury called the master thesis of Ralph 'innovative and written in a clear and pleasant manner with a scientific approach'.
Ralph is also the winner of the Hanneke Steenbergen diploma thesis prize.
