The VU Education Day on 5 March 2026, will be entirely dedicated to ‘A Broader Mind – From theory to classroom’. It promises to be a day full of inspira tion, connection, and new perspectives, bringing VU’s A Broade r Mind vision to life.

This year, we are taking a big step : translating VU’s broader vision into the everyday reality of educ ation.

Opening and Keynote
We w ill kick off the day with a joint plenary session, where Prof. dr. Kr istin Vanlommel will guide us through the art of organizing change wi thin VU. Read more about her keynote.

Workshops and in teractive sessions
Choose from sessions that bring the A Broader Mind vision to life in your own educational pra ctice. Get inspired, share insights and explore new perspectives that you can apply directly in your own context. Opt for in-depth explora tion during the deep-dive sessions, or gain insight into a range of t opics by attending the flash sessions. VU Education Awar ds Ceremony
The VU Education Day will conclude with the festive presentation of the VU Education Awards. The following a wards will be presented: the Master’s Thesis Award, Student Talent Award and Educational Innovation Award. Afterwards, we will raise a t oast in the Foyer – to the finalists and to one another!

VU speaker gift
This year, the speaker gift will be d onated to the VU Fund.
