Great Minds reading group: Marcus Aurelius | session 2

Share

Marcus Aurelius is one of the most famous ancient philsophers. Hailed for his meditations and contributions to stoic thought, he remains a pillar for young people interested in learning more about the mind and living in accordance with one's nature. In the following three sessions we will read a selection of the pages of Verissimus; the stoic philosphy of Marcus Aurelius. Be sure to join us for this exciting philosophical graphic novel.

To this day stoicism remains a relevant school of thought. It is associated with living a sober life, controlling your reactions, and engaging with the world from a place of logic. And yet, it is so much more.

Does stoicism still offer the same answers in today’s age? By examining the biographic graphic novel of one of the most famous stoic philosophers, Marcus Aurelius, we will investigate this type of philosophy.

During this first edition of the Great Minds reading group, we will together determine what we wish to learn from the work of these great thinkers, and how we wish to discuss this together. Are you interested in philosophy, antiquity, or discussing the bigger questions in life. This is where you belong.
