Data Carpentry for Social Sciences and Humanities 25 March 2026 - 26 March 2026

The Data Carpentry for Social Sciences and Humanities is a hands-on, two-days training that covers best practices for data organisation in spreadsheets, reproducible data cleaning, and gives an introduction to data analysis and visualisation using the programming language R.

Target audience

This workshop is useful for all PhD candidates and researchers with little to no prior computational experience who are working with tabular data.

The tabular dataset used for practice during the course comes from the social sciences field (that is, survey data in a tabular form).

Prerequisites

No prior knowledge on the tools used in this workshop is required. This is a basic/introductory course.

Credits

Participants from VU can apply for Edubadges (equivalent to 1 EC) upon completing the full course.
