The Career Discovery Programme is a structured career development programme designed to support PhD candidates and postdocs in preparing for their next professional step (beyond academia). During the programme, you explore possible career directions that align with your interests, values, and strengths. You gain insight into different sectors such as corporate organisations, start-ups, non-profits, and government, and become familiar with the types of roles available to academics beyond traditional academic pathways. The programme consists of four half-day workshops. In addition, personal online coaching is part of the programme. The programme starts in early November with a short intake conversation, and the workshops will take place between November 2026 and February 2027.
Participant experiencese:
- "The programme helped me to step back from my dissertation and reflect on what motivates me. It broadened my perspective on possible career paths and gave me energy to plan my next steps."
- The programme taught me that your job search starts earlier than you think. It helped me become more proactive in reaching out and exploring opportunities."
