On 8 December, CICJ hosts a book launch for the volume 'Reframing Transitional Justice: Innovations, Boundaries, and Refractions' that was published in 2026.
This volume challenges the simplicity, predestination, and self-evident nature of contemporary narratives of transitional justice. It focuses on technological innovations and human memory, the boundaries of what conduct transitional justice fruitfully can address and redress (and when to let go and move on), and how the field refracts concerns such as democratic backsliding.
The volume brings together sixteen authors from a diversity of disciplines and experiences. It formed the basis of a dynamic symposium on opinio juris in August 2026. It was edited by Mark A. Drumbl and Kirsten J. Fisher and published with Routledge.
The program takes place in room IN-2A45 in the Law Faculty/the Initium building.
