Alumni of the Public Administration and Political Science programmes are warmly invited to join us for an alumni event on Saturday 28 November.
The central theme of this afternoon is Preserving our humanity: the role of emotions in politics and governance. Our researchers and lecturers will introduce you to topics they are currently exploring.
Dovilė Rimkutė, Associate Professor of Public Administration specialising in Regulatory Governance, will discuss the role of emotions in interactions between regulatory authorities and citizens.
John Hogan, Assistant Professor of International Relations, will explore how stories and emotions shape our political imagination, and the risks that arise when we hand over this narrative power to AI.
We will also be welcoming a special guest: Ailex, the AI hologram that artist Alicia Framis is married to. Alicia herself will also be joining us. During a panel discussion, the speakers and audience will engage in a conversation with Ailex and reflect together on the use of AI.
Expect a varied programme of thought-provoking discussions, with plenty of opportunities to network with fellow alumni and professionals in the field.
