Workshop: Dutch Educational Environment
Understanding Cultural Dynamics in Dutch Academia
Cultural patterns of behavior and belief frequently impact our perceptions (what we see), cognitions (what we think), and actions (what we do). For newly-arrived international staff in the Netherlands, the relative lack of hierarchy between students and professors can be surprising and may lead to misunderstandings rooted in cultural differences.
By exploring various cultural dimensions on a global scale, this workshop provides deeper insight into how cultural differences shape both social and professional interactions. This understanding not only enhances cross-cultural awareness but also offers valuable perspectives on navigating the Dutch educational environment.
Join us for this insightful workshop led by Neira Becar to explore the Dutch educational environment, navigate cultural expectations, and gain practical strategies for fostering collaboration and communication.
