What about Scholasticide in Palestine ? 17 April 2025 17:00 - 19:00

Share
Join us for a roundtable on scholasticide in Palestine, in which we will discuss academic complicity, ethical responsibility, and legal duty. This lecture is the first in a lecture series organised by the staff and students of Anthropology, VU Amsterdam, called "What about Palestine?"

In What About Palestine, we take our cue from scholars who have described Palestine as a laboratory for humanitarianism (Ilana Felman 2018; Sa’ed Atshan 2023) and technologies of displacement and dispossession (Stephen Graham, 2011; Eyal Weizman 2007), and we draw on the anthropological tradition of taking ‘small places’ as a vantage point onto ‘large issues’ to ask the question “what worlds are being (un)made through the destruction of life in Palestine?
