The GitHub workshop is specifically connected to the RDM handbook that we're developing together and that now lives at rdm.vu.nl. The workshop is aimed at everybody wanting to contribute to GitHub, but needing some instruction or a refresher. Everything under the excellent supervision of Jolien and Peter Vos.
What to expect?
The Summer Training Day is a day of training for support staff at VU (and everybody interested in research support). It consists of a few separate workshops for which you can sign up, all consisting of one hour. We'll end the day with some drinks and the chance to catch up before summer.
Who should attend?
Everyone interested in the topics of Research Data Support Training Days is warmly welcome to attend. You don't need to have a special support role. We are excited to see both specialists in research data management and experts in other fields. The goal is to learn from each other.
About the Research Data Support Training Days
Research Support and Training Days are bi-yearly events to help colleagues from different departments learn about the topics like Research Data Management and Open Science, and about each other’s work! At the VU, the expertise in Research Data Management (RDM) and Open Science (OS) is distributed across several parts of the organisation, such as the Library, IT, Legal, IT for Research, Security, Education Affairs. As the RDM and OS landscapes are rapidly evolving, and new colleagues join the Network on a regular basis it is important to make sure that our knowledge base is up to date and that we allow us time to celebrate Open Science.
We are eager to do this Training Days together with you! If you have ideas for a thematic session, a workshop, a poster or maybe a pub quiz - please let us know and join our enthusiastic organisers' team for the Summer Training Days edition. Drop an email at Tycho Hofstra t.m.hofstra@vu.nl for more information.
