This presentation is for anyone curious about what happens when art, science, and technology collide. Nerdy Arts brings together students from the Gerrit Rietveld Academie and VU to explore how artistic thinking can meet research, innovation, and social questions. Whether you’re into AI, sensory experiments, design, or interdisciplinary collaboration, this is a chance to see ideas in progress, meet other curious minds, and be part of a conversation across fields.
The event also invites new encounters and possible collaborations between students, researchers and staff interested in crossing disciplinary boundaries. Curious about future interdisciplinary projects? Then this is a great time to hook up and start a conversation.

About Nerdy Arts
From 22 April to 13 May, students from the GRA's Nerdy Arts programme will collaborate with students from the Network Institute Academy Project at VU Amsterdam. Together, they will explore the intersections of artistic and scientific research. Presentations and small installations can be seen in the NU building, including in: the corner space on the street side, the event location at the top of the escalator in the NU building. All presentations are freely accessible to students, staff and curious visitors. We especially welcome researchers, teachers and students from GRA and VU who are interested in experimental approaches or jointly developing future initiatives. More information on the webpage of the Gerrit Rietveld Academie.
