Erwin Berkhout will be appointed Professor of Oral Radiology and Digital Dentistry as of September 2024. Since 2013, he has led the Oral Radiology section at ACTA, where he focuses on education, research, and patient care. In his inaugural lecture, he shares his expertise on digital imaging, radiation protection, and the application of artificial intelligence in dental radiology.
In addition to his academic work, Berkhout is active in various (inter)national organizations. He is the chair of the Radiation Protection Committee of the European Academy of DentoMaxilloFacial Radiology (EADMFR) and holds several board positions within the Dutch Society for DentoMaxilloFacial Radiology (NVDMFR) and the Dutch Journal of Dentistry (NTvT).
