Abstract
Digital resilience has become increasingly crucial for organizations and professionals in times of major exogenous shocks and escalating crises. Departing from the prevailing entity-focused view that frames resilience as a capability—presupposing the ex-ante availability of necessary resources—we approach digital resilience as an ongoing process. Through a longitudinal qualitative study of Greek primary school teachers, we explore how digital resilience emerges over time across multiple exogenous shocks despite significant resource constraints and limited organizational support. Amalgamating a relational view on technology with resourcing theory, we trace the mechanisms through which professionals repurpose and create resources within evolving relations to respond to consecutive shocks. We develop a process model of digital resilience emergence and introduce the concept of ‘relational resourcing’, i.e., the process through which resources are constituted within an evolving relational constellation.
