As part of the reopening of the UB Tower on February 27th, The Mindful Library will finally open its doors on the twelfth floor. The Mindful Library is a place for reflection, connection and discovery on the topic of mindfulness and meditation. But what is the place of mindfulness in academia?
During a set of mini-lectures and a panel, we will wonder just that. We’re happy to announce that the speakers are:
Prof. dr. André van der Braak
‘Transformative Experiences and Their Place in Academia’
Prof. dr. Heleen Slagter
‘Meditation and the Predictive Brain’
Dr. Igno Maggio
‘From Awareness to Action: the Paradigm Shift We Need to Boost Our Students’ Happiness’
Other parts of the program are Policy Maker David Oldenhof who will share his vision on The Mindful Library; as well as a festive, formal opening of the two spaces that are part of The Mindful Library. You’re invited to stick around afterwards for some refreshments and some further conversation.
This opening symposium is part of the festive reopening of the UB Tower on Tuesday 27 February. Throughout the afternoon the renovated library tower of the VU Main Building will be the stage for various activities.
