The Library Tower in the VU Main Building has undergone a comprehensive renovation, culminating in a refreshed and conducive study environment that harnesses the power of books. In collaboration with various VU communities, we have established themed libraries to enhance the library's offerings. Additionally, the new Library Lounge provides a space for meetings and relaxation.
The University Library (UB) and Corporate Real Estate and Facilities (FCO) of VU Amsterdam would like to invite you to the official reopening of the Library Tower.
All afternoon there are activities, including:
- an artistic unveiling
- guided tours by library staff
- exhibition on the history of the University Library
- opening symposium Mindful Library
- opening Library Lounge & retrospective Re:Book 'The new lives of books'
- theme libraries
- lecture on the architectural history of the Library Tower
