The Sustainability Fair starts at 11:00 am in the Main Building (ground floor) and stays open until 2:00 pm. Registration is not necessary - just walk in. Everyone is welcome!

- Drink a tea with the Green Office
Since 2014, the mission of the Green Office VU is to make a substantial and sustainable impact by influencing and working together with the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, its community and partners. Join us for tea and (vegan) cake to celebrate 10 years of the Green Office at VU! Think along with us on what the next 10 years of sustainability will look like!
- Yesteryears
Yesteryears spread a passion for vintage clothes, accessories and sustainability. Our pop-up has bin at many known festival & events. Next up, a complete market at the Vu! We will bring vintage gems, accessories and even a local artist who can spice up your purchase even more! She will bring the cooles designs to choose from. Hope to See you there!
- NEWconnective
NEWConnective is VU's platform for life's bigger questions; be it questions about identity, grief or existential issues. Sustainability and climate are part of these bigger questions; for example we're concerned with climate anxiety and earth emotions. Join us at our stand and get to know us and our events!
- VU Sportcentrum
Join us for a 5-minute Body-Mind Rese; relaxing your brain and activating your body. A great break from your work or study day!
- Green Travel Grant Stand
At the VU Green Travel Grant stand, you can hear more about how VU International Office support students with sustainable travelling. Are you planning on going abroad for an exchange semester and are you curious about the possibilities? Or would you just like to know more about what we are doing and how we support students to choose the train over the plane? Come by for a chat and learn more.
Workshops
There are also a number of fun workshops you can take part in. The workshops will take place from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. You can just drop by to see if you can join in.
- ‘Painting with Plants’ - Let nature colour your life.
For thousands of years, people have been painting with plants and soil to capture natural colours. Much of this knowledge has been lost with the use of synthetic pigments and chemicals. In this workshop, we go back to basics and use colours from plants as you find them here at VU. These colours are often instantly recognisable and evoke a natural connection. Using tie-dye and shibori techniques, you will make a large or small piece of naturally dyed fabric that you can take home.
- Guerrilla Gardners
Time to roll up your sleeves and make your own flower bombs. With these, you can turn bare plots of land into a bright sea of flowers. You get a bag of flower bombs to take home so you can pick a nice spot that could use some colour.
A flower bomb is a package of clay, compost and seeds with the potential to cause a flower explosion. Guerrilla gardeners use these ‘bombs’ to sow flowers in places they can't easily reach.
- Origami with old books
Join us for this special edition of the Bookish Craft Collective, a VU Library and Student Wellbeing Point collaboration. Together, we will make crafts and new creations from old library books while we enjoy each other’s company. See you there!
