Abstract
In this session, we will cover the fundamentals of information economics and its promise in strategy and management. We will compare and contrast this theory with other foundational theories that rest on different behavioral assumptions. We will then use M&A as a context to highlight the distinctive predictions of this theory and its ability to carry out research on new facets of investments by firms. Empirical evidence from a study of information disclosures and contracting for technology acquisitions will be provided.
