In this thesis Wiegel showed that telemonitoring disease activity with ePROs can reduce the number of clinic visits safely. Thus, telemonitoring disease activity with ePROs can be used in clinical practice. However, adherence to reporting ePROs is a point of concern. To improve this, it is important that patients experience ePRO completion as useful and barriers to use are limited. Wiegel found several associations between patient factors and adherence (i.e. SES and gender), but they do not explain the variance in adherence completely.
