When you're not able to travel back home to visit your family over the holidays, we got you. In this Christmas Gathering, we share some good potluck food, some thoughts on James Baldwin and the documentary about his life and work ''I'm not your Negro'', and mainly, each other's company.
Walk-in starts at 3:30. There will be some small bites and some Christmas piano music waiting for you. At 5:00, we'll start with the potluck meal.
What's a potluck, you might ask?
It's like a buffet where everyone brings a homemade dish. If everyone brings a dish from their own culture, we'll have a beautiful diversity of tastes. So, bring a small dish of your own, grab a plate and dig in!
After the shared dinner, we’ll watch the James Baldwin documentary ''I'm not your Negro''. Christmas is traditionally a time of harmony and peace, and we'll share some thoughts on Baldwin's insights into these subjects. Do you not feel like getting into any heavy stuff? No worries, there's a wide array of cool games available in 3D.
