Storytelling triggers change: stories connect, make urgency palpable and set people in motion. By making space for exchange in the form of personal stories, you strengthen underline interest and empathy. This helps to understand each other without having to agree.
Changing stories: what is it?
‘Changing stories’ is a work format in which you will share your story in a small group. This story can be about an experience, an image, a wish and/or theme that is meaningful to you. This helps you gain a better understanding of what is important to you, what your motivations are, your qualities, vulnerabilities and challenges. But also those of your teammates. There is attention and understanding for differences. And because you express yourself and feel listened to, connection and energy for change emerge.
'Changing stories’ can be a preparation for Art Based and/or Nature Based learning, but can also be done separately.
Points of attention and purpose
While sharing stories and case studies, the point is not to convince each other about the content, but rather to let the differences exist. The things you learn about yourself and each other give a lot of insight. It creates a basis for taking the next step: what am I (or are we) going to work on? How? For what? When? What is needed for this? The working methods begin at the engagement level and can be the prelude to making a mutual contract: concretizing what you are going to work on individually and together in the upcoming period.
For whom?
For teams who want to take the time to engage with each other on topics of concern in their faculty and work environment.
