The Amsterdam Business Research Institute (ABRI) offers a research training programme as an opportunity for talented master students to explore possibilities for an academic career.
During this programme, which is an extension of your regular VU School of Business and Economics MSc programme, you will step into the shoes of a PhD candidate to experience what it is like to be working as a PhD candidate.
This means that you will participate in PhD level courses (minimum of 21 ECTS) to gain the knowledge and methodological skills necessary for conducting research in business and management. Next to the courses, you will work on a research project together with an ABRI Fellow who acts as your personal mentor. In addition, there will be an opportunity to work as a teaching and/or research assistant at an ABRI-affiliated department.
The objective of the ABRI Pre-PhD Training Programme is to provide you with a good impression of what life as a PhD candidate would be like – and whether or not this would be the right choice for you. If so, the ABRI Pre-PhD Training Programme will prepare you for an application to the ABRI PhD Programme.
