The life-cycle of government policy & regulation as common thread

Module Regulatory Impact & Organizational Response

This module of Compliance & Integrity Management is organised around the subjects of Regulatory Impact & Organisational Response.

Module Regulatory impact & organisational response

The increased regulatory pressure and flow of new regulations require a thorough understanding of the regulatory landscape. Operating successfully requires an effective and efficient interaction between (internal or external) supervisors and organizations. In this module, you learn to understand the context and operation of regulation/legislation and government policy as well as to interact more effectively as professional in the organization in the complex and changing regulatory landscape.

The module builds on the life cycle of government policy and regulation and considers perspectives both at macro and at micro level. Based on the main building blocks – regulation, supervision & enforcement, and operation and evaluation of policy and legislation – you get to understand the dynamics related to developing, implementing, enforcing and evaluating policies and regulation and gain the skills to also effectively translate this to the internal practices in the organisation. Apart from interaction with or as supervisors, the concepts will also be applied to functions with countervailing power within the organisation, such as compliance and audit, which may be seen as or need to operate not only as business partner but also as regulatory force.

What benefits will you and your employer get?

  • Get a thorough understanding of all aspects related to regulation and the ability to consider regulation and supervision from a more holistic and strategic perspective.
  • Plan efficient and effective organisational responses to regulation and supervision and effective supervision strategies as a supervisor.
  • Translate regulatory concepts to internal practices as countervailing power.
