The role of data, models and technology

Module Compliance: Data, Evidence & Compliance

Would you like to further develop your knowledge as a compliance professional? Follow Module Data, evidence, and compliance.

Module Data, evidence, and compliance

The modern compliance function is data-driven and evidence-based. On the one hand, demonstrating compliance nowadays requires more robust measurements and quantification. Next to regulators, customers, investors, and employees require organizations to support their claims. More and more, models are used to identify and measure compliance and integrity risks. On the other hand, the use of (big) data, algorithms and technological developments like AI lead to privacy, compliance, and integrity risks in itself. This module builds on these developments and prepares participants to navigate and communicate effectively on these topics in relation to compliance and integrity. Participants will not be trained to become model specialists, but develop knowledge and skills to be able to communicate effectively with all stakeholders on these topics, and to guide the translation from strategic challenge to data-driven operational practice.

This module is truly cutting-edge. It is based on research – including from our own team – at the frontier of the literature on these topics. Events and case studies are recent and the combination of research and cases are relevant for daily practice.

What benefits will you and your employer get?

  • Increased awareness of risks associated with data and evidence like, for example, making unsupported claims using biased training data sets, relying on poor metrics, flaws in models, using data.
  • The possibility to test whether compliance initiatives and risk models are effective.
  • Knowledge to effectively challenge model specialist and be the linking pin to ensure that the actual strategic challenge is measured or solved by the use of data, models or modern technologies.
