Broadening Perspectives

Treasury Management & Corporate Finance

Boost your career as an all-round Treasury professional, by a series of “Master classes” given by a large number of lecturers, experienced treasury and corporate finance professionals.

The program is split in 3 semester modules. Each semester module lasts 5 months.

Each of these semester modules can be taken separately. This allows flexibility in terms of interest and timing. Successful completion of a semester module is rewarded with a certificate. When all 3 semester modules are successfully completed, the title of Registered Treasurer (RT) will be awarded.

The postgraduate Executive Treasury Management & Corporate Finance program has now been running for more than 25 years at Vrije Universiteit. The program in this disciplines on Master level is unique both in the Netherlands and abroad.

It meets the need for a thorough practical education in Treasury Management & Corporate Finance at Master's level.

The post-graduate Executive Treasury Management & Corporate Finance program is a strategic partner of the Dutch Association of Corporate Treasurers (DACT). Professional partners of the program are KPMG, Orchard Finance, PWC, Zanders and EY.

Value proposition

The program (semester modules) is designed to offer a an efficient boost as a Treasury professional. It advances your development as an academic professional through a mix of:

  • Knowledge: increasing knowledge/conceptual base with practical relevance
  • Application: discussing real issues in professional practice and case studies in class
  • Expertise: taking an active role in forming opinions on treasury issues relevant for professional practice

The program is not only about knowledge, but also about providing solid practical insights into the professional practice of Treasury Management & Corporate Finance.

Typical profiles of the participants

  • Professionals who are ready to make a (quick) horizontal shift in their career from a related financial discipline to the treasury and corporate discipline.

       -   banking sector, (accountancy) consultancy sector, large corporates

  • Professionals working in (smaller size) treasury departments willing to broaden their scope on the Treasury & Corporate Finance profession and willing to connect to the Treasury community.

       -   corporate sector, (semi) non-profit sector

  • Professionals with RA and RC qualifications who wish to broaden and deepen their practical knowledge and skills in the more specific Treasury & Corporate Finance disciplines. The curriculum of the three semester module fits seamlessly with those of RA and RC, with practically no overlap (PE points are available).

Treasury Management & Corporate Finance at a glance

  • Start date: February 7, 2025
  • Semester Modules Corporate Financial Risk Management (Feb 2025 - Jun 2025)
  • Time Investment: 225 hours per semester module: 18 weeks with 4-hour lectures per week and approximately 8 hours of self-study per week.
  • Tuition fees: € 9.500 first module
  • Physical (in class) lectures at the VU: each Thursday 15:30 – 20:00 hrs.
