- Introduction by Prof. Dr. Marjolein Zweekhorst | background on the inception of community service learning at the VU, and description of what community service learning has come to represent at the VU.
- Karsten Altenschmidt | overview of the various types and versions of service learning.
- Geertje Tijsma | description of how community service learning is realised at the VU, including an introduction to the thematic approach and the interdisciplinary masters module.
- Nataša Matulayová | examination of the challenges that teachers and students can face in Service Learning projects, with a discussion of the Louis competency framework.
- Avril Lombardi Bolaño & Janaina de Oliveira |exploration of the institutional level in the Spanish context and a tangible example of service learning, including the challenges this entails with their communities.
Directly following the inspirational talks, representatives from all the international guests for a panel discussion! We will have the opportunity to talk with people from various contexts, ranging from Zambia to India.
