That is demonstrated once again by the recent Economenparade published by Economisch Statistische Berichten. Professor of finance Albert Menkveld is number one in scientific productivity, just like the last few years. The top-40 of economic researchers in The Netherlands lists nine VU-economists. And even 11 economists (and no 1 in The Netherlands) if not only scientific but also societal relevance is taken into acocunt, calculated based on relatedness of research with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The societal relevance of our economic research is also demonstrated by the fact that a blog by VU-researchers was the most read blog at the site of Economisch Statistische Berichten in 2022. The blog was read about 100.000 times by almost 55.000 people.
