NSE 2022 results: SBE students satisfied with hybrid education

8 June 2022
The results of the National Student Survey (NSE) of Studiekeuze123 were announced this week for 2022. The main conclusion for the School of Business and Economics (SBE): hybrid education scores excellent.

SBE students rate their faculty with a score of 3.81 (out of 5). This is slightly lower than in 2021 (3.88). The same is true for faculty engagement and contact. This decreased, compared to last year, from 3.86 to 3.81. The themes of study guidance (from 3.79 to 3.76) and academic skills (from 3.89 to 3.86) also show a small decrease. The score on content (3.82) has remained stable. The same can be said about the rating of teachers (3.81).

 Pleased with hybrid education
On the other hand, students are very satisfied with the themes challenging education (3.77) and hybrid education (partly following lessons online from home). The latter even made a jump, compared to last year, from 3.48 to 3.65. SBE thus receives the highest rating of all VU faculties.

The highest rating of the general program assessment goes to the Master's program Marketing. Students appreciate this study with a 4.37. This is followed by the masters Spatial, Transport and Environmental Economics (4.35), Econometrics and Operations Research (4.00), Transport and Supply Chain Management (3.97) and Finance (3.93). Among bachelors, Econometrics and Operations Research receives the highest appreciation (3.94).

Postgraduate programs score high
Last year, the postgraduate Master's program Executive Master Finance & Control scored the highest with 4.29 points. This year, however, it had to cede the crown to Geographical Information Sciences. SBE students are extremely satisfied and praise the content and faculty teachers of this postgraduate master program, which resulted in a unique high score of 4.60.

The Executive Master Finance & Control, as the second highest scoring postgraduate master's program, is also doing extremely well. It improved its 2021 score by 4.40 points. Marketing (part time) is also doing more than well with 4.31 points. Compared to the bachelor's and master's programs, SBE's postgraduate students are most satisfied with almost all educational topics.
