How to create societal impact as a researcher?

12 July 2022
On April 5, at the invitation of the Institute for Societal Resilience (ISR), Nataliia Sokolovska (Humbolt Institut, Berlin) delivered a keynote on challenges and opportunities in realizing social impact of research in the social sciences and humanities.

Nataliia's inspiring speech addressed the question how researchers can increase the social impact of their research through the exchange of (different types of) knowledge and make it more visible both inside and outside academia. In a workshop after the keynote, researchers used examples and the Research Impact Canvas to look for tools for researchers to structurally realize social impact of research.

The ISR meeting was made possible by a contribution of the VU strategy team and is part of the current trajectory to develop an FSS strategy for societal impact. Please, find the Impact Key Note here. Curious about the ISR trajectory to develop the FSS social impact strategy? Let us know at isr.fsw@vu.nl.
