Our Dean Gregor Halff opened the meeting with words of praise for the research within the faculty and the researchers. We should be proud of what we are doing as faculty. Gregor gave the following message: less modesty, development opportunities, and raising external funds.
The purpose of this first meeting was to form a joint impact strategy. After Joris Rijbroek's presentation on the new impact strategy of FSS in progress, researchers, students, and other employees were asked to give their input. Researchers indicated that they would like to be part of the movement toward creating more social impact. They indicated that infrastructure and communication within and outside the faculty regarding research needs improvement.
It is also important to consider the crossovers between different fields of expertise. What types of impact do we want to create as a faculty? And how can we realize this with research? A very inspiring meeting that provided several insights into the final impact strategy of the FSS.
