His research gives insights into the dynamics and function of networks:
Many systems we rely on every day—from power grids to our own brains—can be seen as networks of interacting dynamical units. My research is driven by the need to understand these systems and their dynamics: For example, by just looking at which unit connects to which other unit, can I predict whether the units will synchronize their dynamics? My mathematical results give insights into the dynamics and function of networks, whether coupled chemical reactions or oscillatory brain network activity affected by disease.
