In 2021, the pre-doctoral training will be held also for Chinese students. The objective is to support incoming and future PhD students, preparing them for their PhD trajectories at a Dutch University.
The training comprises of four modules: Academic English Writing, Academic Competences, Soft Skills Training and Dutch Crash Course. With this intensive two-week programme, PhD students will be equipped with the necessary research, academic writing and soft skills to manage challenges commonly encountered in a PhD trajectory. Furthermore, the programme makes the transition to the Netherlands easier and faster thanks to the practical insights provided by PhD alumni from China and Indonesia on ‘life in the Netherlands’, the Dutch culture and the Dutch academic system.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the 2021 trainings will be held online: 14-25 June 2021 for China and 28 June – 9 July 2021 for Indonesia. Applications have already started!
The Centre of International Cooperation spearheads the inter-university pre-doc partnership with active engagement of Denyse Snelder, Henk van den Heuvel, Frans Snijders and Sabina Di Prima. More info on the pre-doc can also be found on our VU website.
