Freek Vonk and Matyas Bittenbinder are busy looking for a solution against snake venom. According to Vonk someone dies every five minutes from the bite of a venomous snake.

Every year, 5 million people are bitten by venomous snakes, often fatally. There are 750 species of venomous snakes, each with their unique poison cocktail. Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam professor Freek Vonk and VU biologist Mátyás Bittenbinder talk to Op1 about the problem and the groundbreaking drug they are working on.
