Call for Papers about Decentering Sustainability

The International Conference on Environmental, Cultural, Economic & Social Sustainability calls for research proposals for their 19th edition in 2023.

The Nineteenth International Conference on Environmental, Cultural, Economic & Social Sustainability is organized by the Sustainability Research Network and brings together experts from multiple disciplines with a common concern for sustainability. The goal is to build a research community where members can make linkages across disciplinary, geographic, and cultural boundaries. 

For the 19th edition of the conference in Ljubljana 2023, the organizers call for paper submissions surrounding the focus topic "Decentering Sustainability: Towards Local Solutions for Global Environmental Problems".  

The topics covered are

  1. Multiple Legacies: Heritage, Traditions, Local Ecologies, Knowledge, Values, Protection
  2. Extractions: Food, Water, Energy, Resources, Materials, Reuse, Distribution, Accessibility, Non-Material Extractions
  3. Digital Sustainability: Sustainable Digitalization, Smart Communities, Smart Mobility, Green Technologies, Electronic Waste
  4. Sustaining Crisis: (De)Growth, Alternative Economies, Greenwashing, Social And Political Movements

We are happy to announce that ASI director Prof. Philipp Pattberg is one of the plenary speakers of the upcoming 18th edition of the conference in January 2022 under the topic of "Post Pandemic Sustainability: Towards a Green Recovery for Nature, People and Planet".
