Accredited schools must meet very strict quality standards and are widely known as the best business schools in the world. Therefore, they attract the best students, local and international. We are very pleased that we have reached this important milestone!
On Friday 15 March, we celebrated this positive news from AACSB with all our colleagues from the School of Business and Economics with cake and a speech by Dean Arjen van Witteloostuijn.
The AACSB is in essence a quality assurance model. It systematically measures the way learning objectives are achieved. Quality is not so much defined by remarks by students in their evaluations, or the NSE, or by pass rates for an exam, important as they may be. Rather, the AACSB measures quality by looking at the number of students that have mastered a particular learning objective and the measures that VU School of Business and Economics takes to improve this. This requires a different way of thinking and working.
The entire procedure should be concluded during 2021 with a successful accreditation.
