VU Amsterdam takes legal action against De Verrekijker
On 6 March, VU Amsterdam withdrew its confidence in De Verrekijker and terminated with immediate effect its toleration of the collective’s temporary use of university premises. De Verrekijker was given the opportunity to vacate the space it was occupying and was obliged to return the space to its original state and hand it over to the university by 3 April at the latest. In the past month, there has been intensive contact between the university and De Verrekijker. Unfortunately, the university is forced to conclude that the collective has not yet vacated the space.

VU Amsterdam is now taking legal action against De Verrekijker collective. The university regrets having to take this step, but is compelled to do so in order to ensure a satisfactory conclusion to this matter. It continues to maintain that the space has to be vacated because the collective has repeatedly failed to comply with the agreements made. VU Amsterdam remains committed to a policy of cooperation with the collective, aimed at ensuring that the space is vacated.
