VU economics research ranked top 35 worldwide

The Faculty of Economics and Business Administration of Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam is ranked as top 35 in the world in the latest Tilburg University Top 100 Worldwide Economics Schools Research Ranking.

Familiar US research institutes such as Harvard, Chicago and Stanford lead the worldwide rankings. Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam follows in the list of top institutes in Europe. It ranks top 10 in continental Europe and 2nd within the Netherlands based on the quality of its research in economics.

VU continually strives to improve the quality of its research and its impact on society. The faculty is research driven and its enthusiasm for high-quality research is a key ingredient in all of its master degree and PhD programmes. The 'Worldwide Economics Schools Research Ranking' ranking are based on publications over 2012-2016 in 70 leading economics journals. The ranking was first published in 2009 and has been published annually since.
