 ll be held by Saskia Bonjour (Associate Professor of Political Scienc
 e, University of Amsterdam), titled: "Migration lawyers as normative 
 political actors in the family migration regime."</p></p> <p>One of t
 he key arenas where what counts as “family” for migration control
  purposes is contested is the courts, and the key actors who do so ar
 e lawyers. Saskia argues that lawyers should be conceptualized as pol
 itical actors who play a crucial but ambiguous role in migration regi
 mes, confirming and contesting legal and social norms. <br><br>Saskia
  is Director of the Amsterdam Research Center for Migration (ARC-M) a
 nd founding Editorial Fellow of the journal Migration Politics.&nbsp;
 She is also a member of the board of the Amsterdam Research Center on
  Gender and Sexuality&nbsp;(ARC-GS).<br><br>Special attention for ACM
