This training is for Ph D candidates with three months to 1.5 years of experience.

As a PhD student at the beginning of your research, you need to become f amiliar with your research area in a short time and learn how to dete rmine the path you will follow. In this training you will learn to se t your own goals, develop a strategy to achieve them and communicate about them with others.

The training covers the following:

  • Communicating effectiv ely with others
  • Presentation

    • This intensive tra ining is largely based on practical exercises. You learn by carrying out assignments and applying what you have learned in your own work s ituation. Attention is paid to personal learning goals and you receiv e personal feedback on the exercises. You are given small assignments so that you can apply what you have learned.

    Practical inform ation and registration

    The training is in English. The trainin g takes place over a period of about 6 weeks and consists of 6 sessio ns. With all participants, intake interviews are held to align their issues with the content of the training and to discuss how you can ac tively participate. More inf ormation and registration.

    Start of training

    The in take interviews will take place online on 19 and 20 February (09.30 - 12.30). The training will start on Tuesday 3 March.

    What do w e expect from you?

    We expect you to actively participate, ask questions and share your experiences with your fellow students. This way, you can learn from each other. It is therefore important that yo u can converse in English on a good level about personal matters and about your research.

    Participants will receive a c ertificate and 2 ECTS after full participation in the course.
