sts, hosted by the Ethnographic Impact Lab of the Department of Socia
l and Cultural Anthropology at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
This year’s symposium brings together anthropologists,
alumni, students, and societal partners to reflect on the role of ant
hropology in a rapidly changing world. The afternoon opens with remar
ks by representatives of the Anthropology department. Next, we engage
in conversation between anthropologists and stakeholders, exploring
how anthropological knowledge travels beyond academia and contributes
to society in meaningful ways. The symposium concludes with a collec
tive discussion on the future of stakeholder research and public anth
ropology in a context of changing funding landscapes, institutional r
estructuring, and increasing pressures on socially engaged work. You
are all invited to join us in this symposium and further discussions
over drinks.
