SUMMARY:Against the tide? Conservatism on campus
X-ALT-DESC;FMTTYPE=text/html:

For years, the world se
emed to increasingly embrace progressive ideals, but looking at the r
esults of many big elections over the last decade, one can’t help b
ut think this momentum has all but disappeared.

The conservat
ive narrative is back from never having been fully gone, and has secu

estore some good old time. Meanwhile, the university and its populati
on get a scolding. We are too elitist and too woke. We are out of tou
ch with the concerns of ordinary citizens. And while we preach inclus
ion, conservative views are in actuality not tolerated. At least
, that is the indictment.

On 16 March 16:00 (that’s 4 P
M for Americans) 3D will venture outside of the ivory tower. In a dia
logue with prominent conservative and Theologist of the Netherlands P
rof. dr. Arnold Huijgen and philosopher Prof. dr. <s
trong>Govert Buijs, we will discuss this interesting movemen
t, which is so rarely heard on campus. Is our society indeed turning
more conservative? Is there really so little space on university camp
uses for the conservative viewpoint? And, not unimportant, to what ex
tent is that new and successful, populist reactionary conservative so
und áctual conservatism? Together with all present, we will seek to
answer these questions, and more.

sopher Prof. dr. Govert Buijs, we will discuss this
interesting movement, which is so rarely heard on campus. Is our soci
ety indeed turning more conservative? Is there really so little space
on university campuses for the conservative viewpoint? And, not unim
portant, to what extent is that new and successful, populist reaction
