The congress will be convened by Kees Blankman and Rieneke Stelma-Roorda. It is our pleasure to invite you to join us in Amsterdam.
Bringing together international experts on aging, disability and guardianship, this congress provides a platform for contributions from the various disciplines and practi ces that contribute to improving the rights of persons in need of sup port.
In the coming decades, the dignity and human rights of&nb sp; persons in need of support will be threatened by a number of deve lopments. Not only by geopolitical tensions or the impact of climate change, but also by cuts in care budgets and access to justice. WCAC 2026 aims to bring together a community of researchers, people who ca re or are cared for, policymakers, practitioners and others in all re levant professions, NGO’s and other stakeholders to interact and le arn from one another’s experiences to address the challenges of the next decade.
The working language during the congress is Engli sh.
Amsterdam is an attractive location not only from a tourist point of view, but also because it is easily accessible via Schiphol – Amsterdam International Airport, one of Europe’s largest airpo rts with many direct international flight connections. The Vrije Univ ersiteit, the congress venue, is uniquely located between the airport (13 minutes) and the city centre (12 minutes), close to Amsterdam Zu id train station (9 minutes’ walk) and with a tram stop right outsi de the door.
