Guideline for Presentation s: Participants will be given 20-30 minute slots to present where we encourage presentations of upto 10 minutes and the rest for discussion. We encourage creative presentations (no need to stick to the academic presentation playbook), so use multimedia elements, enga ge the audience or also performance! You can focus on specific open q uestions in your paper or certain aspects you would like to discuss i nstead of taking us through all aspects of your paper. 

Fishbowl: Ethnography and Discourse: East and West? Neither Eas t nor West? (Friday 11.30)

" Oh, East is East, and West is West, and never the twain shall meet. B ut there is neither East nor West, Border, nor Breed, nor Birth"  ;(Rudyard Kipling). Ethnographers immerse; discourse scholars di ssect. One tradition wants to learn by being there, the other deconst ructs how ‘there’ has even come about. So, is this a real divide, or a border we keep redrawing out of habit? In this fishbowl, we wan t to test whether East and West are two traditions, two temperaments, or one conversation we've been having all along.
