This crash workshop foc uses on improving your search strategy (from Module 2), which element s do not belong in your bibliography. Not only will you learn to asse ss and reflect on your own research process, but you will also be abl e to take accountability and communicate about your research process.

This advanced course is designed for people who already have experience setting up a research and search strategy but want to expa nd their skills. If you are unfamiliar with setting up a search strat egy, consider taking module 2 first.

This wor kshop is suitable for all those who need to write an academic paper, either as a refresher or a deepening.

You will learn to:

select, assess and evaluate sources based on your information needs;
critically examine your set-up, the results and wher e it can be improved;
adjust your strategy to get better, m ore relevant results;
assess the credibility of information using indicator times cited by others;
cite sources correc tly and explain related problems and risks;
explain the imp ortance of copyright and its main rules;
adapt your communi cation strategy to the message and target audience.

Workshop requirements
You must send me (r.e.vermunt@vu.nl) your search strategy (from Module 2, or your own search strategy) in advan ce: containing search question, key concepts, keywords, search string s, database of choice and number of hits. The course participants giv e each other feedback. Then you get some handles for improvement appl y those.
